My parents were together for 20 years before getting a divorce back in December 2011. I was depressed at first but now I'm fine. All of the sudden lately my parents think I'm severely depressed and need help when in fact I am not. they wont listen to me. I try to go out and do things to prove them wrong but i live in a small tow. There's not much here. What do I do?
At least give your parents credit for caring. If you think about it...I know they're really late but they are just looking out for you. I, personally, don't think It's a bad idea to talk to someone professional about it. If you have tried everything in the book to convince them then now I suggest a negotiation. "I'll go only once. If they say I'm fine, then I won't go anymore. But if they say something's wrong, then I'll stay." they can at least go along with that. They can't drag you through the door or make you tell the doctor your personal feelings. Who knows, maybe you'll discover something wrong and have the chance to fix it!
